Hybrid vehicle systems can serve to either improve fuel economy or increase horsepower. Judging by units sold, customers prefer models that offer improved fuel economy. Fuel efficient hybrid models such as the Toyota Prius have enjoyed increasing sales, while models that use hybrid systems to increase horsepower, including the Honda Accord, Lexus RX 400h and Toyota Highlander, have seen decreasing sales since their introductions.
I have been an AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants Dealer since 1983 and it has taught me so much about cars and what people think they know about cars. Nobody knows everything about cars even though some people act like they do. There's always something new just around the corner or something so ancient it bears another look. Cars I have owned range from my first car in High School which was a '62 VW Bus, 1972 Hot Rod Gremlin, 1970 Mark Donohue SST Javelin to the collection of cars I have now too numerous to mention here. I owned a 1979 Dodge D-50 (Mitsubishi) Pickup that I drove over 330,000 miles and loved it. It was remarkably well made and never asked for much in repairs. Yet most other owners of the same vehicle would give me very negative reports. An employee in a recking yard once told me, "Those things must be junk! People call here everyday looking for motors for them!" I'd like to believe I just had better maintenance for mine than the other owners. Hence the reason for this blog. There's really got to be a better way!
