AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver
Two fuel additives in one bottle adds convenience for diesel owners
AMSOIL now offers a premium, year-round diesel fuel additive that provides improved efficiency
and maximum cold-weather performance. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver (DFC)
combines the superior detergency of AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate (ADF) and the excellent anti-gelling
properties of AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver (ACF) in one convenient package without sacrificing
performance.
Improved Efficiency
AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is formulated with excellent detergency
properties to help keep injectors, rings, piston crowns and the fuel pump lubricated. By improving
injector performance, combustion becomes more efficient and less soot is generated. Diesel
Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver cleans dirty injectors, improving fuel economy by up to five
percent and restoring horsepower to like new. Acceleration is improved and with regular use, Diesel
Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver continues to enhance performance by keeping injectors clean.
The net savings on fuel expense can result in no additional cost to vehicle operation.
Superior Cold-Weather Performance
As the temperature drops, the wax naturally found in diesel fuel begins to form crystals. The point
at which wax crystals form is known as the cloud point. These wax crystals eventually clog the fuel
filter and starve the engine of fuel, preventing it from starting. While lowquality fuels may form
wax crystals in temperatures as warm as 40°F (4°C), most fuels have a cloud point near
32°F (0°C). The point at which the wax crystals clog the fuel filter is known as the cold
filter-plugging point (CFPP). AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver lowers the CFPP by
as much as 34°F (19°C) in ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD).
It also reduces the pour-point temperature of treated diesel fuel, providing better fuel
delivery to the injectors during cold weather. It is formulated with a jet-fueltype deicer that
controls ice formation in all sections of the fuel system. Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow
Improver minimizes the need for the use of #1 diesel fuel, enabling better fuel economy,
performance and lubricity. Product performance may vary depending on diesel grade and quality.
Pour Point Vs. CFPP
It is important to distinguish between CFPP and pour point. Many competitors make great claims
regarding pour point, leading consumers to believe their products are superior when they actually
have an inferior CFPP. Once fuel surpasses its cloud point, the wax crystals begin to clog the fuel
filter. The CFPP temperature is a more important characteristic than pour point because the engine
will not run if fuel cannot pass through the fuel filter.
Ultra-Low-Sulfur Diesel Fuel Challenges
The reduced sulfur levels in modern ULSD result in reduced lubricity, the property that controls
wear in the fuel injectors and fuel pump. Improving lubricity in ULSD is difficult because it must
be done without adding sulfur back into the fuel. Additionally, ULSD is subjected to extensive
refining, making it even more difficult to treat. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver
is formulated specifically for modern ULSD fuel. It improves lubricity, helps maintain engine oil
TBN and prevents soot loading.
Recommendations
One 16-oz. bottle of AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver treats 40 gallons of fuel.
Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver will show no signs of solidifying in its concentrated
state in the bottle until the temperature reaches -22°F (-30°C). It will only freeze in its
concentrated state, and AMSOIL recommends storing it at temperatures above 0°F (-18°C). If
Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is allowed to freeze in the bottle it can be thawed and
used. When mixed with diesel fuel, Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver effectively improves
diesel fuel coldtemperature properties. It is recommended, however, that fuel be treated at
temperatures above 32°F (0°C). Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver will not dissolve
wax crystals which have already formed in the fuel.
AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver meets federal regulations for ULSD fuel. It
complies with federal low-sulfur content requirements for use in diesel motor vehicles and non-road
engines. While Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is formulated specifically for ULSD fuel,
it is also effective in non- ULSD fuels, including biodiesel.
AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is
specifically formulated to improve the lubrication of fuel system components, improve fuel flow,
help maintain fuel integrity and prevent the fuel filter and injectors from clogging. Diesel
Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is recommended for diesel-powered vehicles, home heating oil
and kerosene heating systems.

AMSOIL Now Offers 150 New Injen/AMSOIL Gasoline Air Intake Systems
Fresh off the introduction of Injen/AMSOIL Cold Air Induction Systems for gasoline auto and
light truck applications, AMSOIL is adding 150 additional gasoline air intake systems.
Market for Air Intake Systems
According to SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association), a new air intake is one of the
first aftermarket modifications a car owner makes to his or her vehicle.
Because air intake systems consistently rank as the most popular consumer aftermarket
accessories purchased, the AMSOIL partnership with Injen provides a fantastic selling opportunity
for AMSOIL Dealers.
Intake System Design
Cold air intake systems serve several important functions. Primarily, they are used to increase the
amount of oxygen available to the engine, increasing power. Because cool air has greater density
than hot air, aftermarket intakes improve combustion of fuel by capturing cooler air from outside
the engine compartment. In addition, an aftermarket air intake system increases the diameter of the
intake as compared to the original equipment, increasing air flow into the engine and making more
oxygen available during the combustion process. By designing a more direct route for the air
entering the engine, as well as a smoother interior surface for the intake, air resistance is
reduced and air flow is increased. Air intake systems can improve gas mileage and increase
performance, and they also add a sleek, custom look to a vehicle.
Injen/AMSOIL intake systems offer quick and easy installation. Kits include installation
instructions complete with photos and descriptions. Short ram kits can be installed in as little as
15 minutes, and the majority of the systems can be installed in 45-60 minutes. Each of the 150 new
and current Injen/AMSOIL kits fall into one of four categories:
SP Intake Systems
SP Intake Systems feature the patent-pending MR technology process for optimal gains and a safe
air-tofuel (A/F) ratio. The SP Series is the world's first tuned intake system, and is effective
for both cold air and short ram systems.
IS Intake Systems
The IS Series features a traditional, under-the-hood intake system that is placed in the stock
location of the factory air-box system. Each system is built from T-6 aluminum alloy to ensure the
lightest possible design. The IS systems are certified, or pending certification, by the California
Air Resource Board and are backed by Injen Technology's limited lifetime warranty.
IS Intake Systems are dyno-tuned for peak performance. They are constructed of 6061 aluminum
aerospace alloy and feature tig-welded ports and brackets and stainless steel clamps.
RD Series Race Division Intake Systems
An RD intake system is a cold air intake system for the enthusiast seeking mid-range power. The
intake tube is strategically placed behind the front bumper to pull in colder, denser air. All RD
systems are certified, or pending certification, by the California Air Resource Board and backed by
Injen Technology's limited lifetime warranty.
RD Series systems are dyno-tuned for peak performance gains and have a polished aluminum finish.
They feature a direct bolt-on application and are constructed of 6061 aluminum aerospace alloy.
Power-Flow Intake Systems
Specifically designed
for high performance trucks and SUVs and engineered to meet the highest industry standards,
Power-Flow Intake Systems feature the best technology available to provide users with optimal
results.
Injen/AMSOIL Power-Flow Intake Systems provide the highest horsepower and torque gains within
safe A/F ratio limits.
The Variable induction (Vi) technology regulates air flow into the air chamber for quiet
operation, allowing for added air flow and power on demand.
AMSOIL Ea Air Filters
All Injen/AMSOIL systems feature AMSOIL Ea Air Filters (EaA), offering state-of-the-art
filtration efficiency while providing excellent protection and air flow. The cleanable and reusable
Ea filter element, with routine maintenance, provides longer filter life for substantial cost
savings when compared to conventional filters. Some systems also feature removable pre-filters,
which remove larger dirt particles and extend the lives of the Ea Air Filters.
The larger inlet of the air intake systems increases horsepower and torque while providing more
passing power for changing lanes, especially while towing. The larger inlet also improves
acceleration as the smooth flow tube design straightens out the entering air for a quicker response
from the throttle.
The design of the filter also improves performance. The 360° accordion-style filter element
provides 500 percent more surface area, maximizing air flow into the engine.
Injen/AMSOIL Co-Branding
Like with the previously-introduced diesel and gasoline intake systems, the Injen and AMSOIL logos
appear on all packaging components, filters, ads and everywhere else the product is available or
advertised.
AMSOIL Dealers have a unique opportunity to exclusively sell these new applications for 90 days.
The kits will only be available through AMSOIL Dealers during this time, after which they will be
released to the rest of the market.
"The addition of the Injen/AMSOIL intake systems to the strong line of
AMSOIL filtration products represents an exciting opportunity for Dealers to expand sales and reach
out to a broader base of customers," said Director of Aftermarket Products Karl Dedolph.
"Injen/AMSOIL intake systems represent the highest level of technology available on the market
today, and provide unsurpassed benefits to users."

New AMSOIL Power Steering
Fluid
Most power steering systems use a belt-driven pump to provide hydraulic pressure to the system.
The pump, usually a rotary vane pump, is driven by the vehicle's engine. As the speed of the engine
increases, the pressure in the hydraulic fluid also increases, necessitating the incorporation of a
relief valve to allow excess pressure to be bled away.
While the power steering is not being used (driving in a straight line), twin hydraulic lines
provide equal pressure to both sides of the steering wheel gear. When torque is applied to the
steering wheel, the hydraulic lines provide unequal pressures, providing assistance in turning the
wheels in the intended direction. Other modern hydraulic power steering systems include an
electronic pressure valve which can reduce the hydraulic pressure of the power steering lines as
the vehicle's speed increases. This is known as variable assist power steering.
Why Change Power Steering Fluid?
Power steering fluid is one of the most neglected fluids under the hood because most people don't
think about it unless there is a problem. Consumers realize that power steering systems require
additional fluid occasionally, but do not realize that power steering fluid should be changed at
regular intervals. Many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) recommend changing power steering
fluid due to the accumulation of wear material and other debris within the power steering system.
For example, Dodge recommends changing the power steering fluid in its 2005-2008 Magnum and Charger
models every 60,000 miles. In addition, power steering fluid has a service life, just like any
other lubricating fluid. It is subject to temperature extremes and must combat contaminants while
simultaneously fulfilling its role as a hydraulic fluid.
AMSOIL Power Steering Fluid
AMSOIL Synthetic Universal Power Steering
Fluid provides excellent wear protection. Its synthetic formulation delivers better lubricity
and reduced friction, resulting in cooler operating temperatures, longer component life and quieter
operation. AMSOIL Power Steering Fluid is formulated with a high viscosity index. Its low pour
point ensures immediate lubrication at startup and in cold temperatures, yet it resists thermal
breakdown and maintains maximum protection in high temperatures.

Motorist Searching for More MPG Find Help with AMSOIL
As fuel costs continue to rise, consumers nationwide are scrambling for ways to improve fuel
efficiency. New gadgets and theories abound, but true improvement of fuel economy in modern cars
and trucks, without the expense of engine conversions or the gamble of unproven devices, is
available through synthetic lubrication and superior fuel additives.
Converting a vehicle's engine, transmission and differential to synthetic lubricants can result
in a fuel economy improvement of 2-5 percent, or even more in some customers' vehicles. However,
one of the simplest and most cost-effective methods of improving fuel economy is through the use of
high-quality fuel additives. AMSOIL P.i. for gasoline engines and AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate for
diesel engines increase fuel efficiency by removing engine deposits and improving the combustion of
fuel.
 |
 |
AMSOIL P.i.
AMSOIL P.i. is the most potent gasoline additive available today. As a concentrated detergent, it
is unsurpassed in cleaning combustion chamber deposits, intake valve deposits and port fuel
injector deposits. It is not a question of whether or not a vehicle has accumulated engine
deposits, it is a question of how badly they've accumulated. Fuel system deposits result in the
following:
♦ Lost fuel economy
♦ Lost power and poor throttle response
♦ Failed emission tests
♦ Poor drivability - surging, hesitation, stalling, rough idle
♦ Engine knocking (pinging) and rap
♦ Difficult starts
P.i. is the Solution
AMSOIL P.i. is the answer for motorists searching for more MPG. It helps maintain peak engine
efficiency, fuel economy, power and drivability in newer, low-mileage engines. In engines with
accumulated deposits, testing showed AMSOIL P.i. provided an average fuel economy increase of 2.3
percent, and up to 5.7 percent.
AMSOIL P.i. is so powerful, AMSOIL has backed it up with a money-back guarantee. If customers
with at least 25,000 miles on their vehicles don't see improved fuel efficiency after one tank of
P.i.-treated gas, AMSOIL will refund their money. Qualifying conditions and the rebate form are
available at www.amsoil.com/products/ promos/P.i.GuaranteeGen.pdf.
AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate
AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate provides maximum diesel operating efficiency. It compensates for the
varying quality of different fuels (including biodiesel) and the deficiencies of today's
ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD) for better engine operation. Diesel Concentrate cleans dirty
injectors, improving fuel economy by up to 5 percent and restoring horsepower to like-new levels.
Acceleration is improved and with regular use, AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate continues to enhance
performance by keeping injectors clean. The net savings on fuel expense can result in no additional
cost to vehicle operation.
AMSOIL Dealers Have the Advantage
In today's automotive marketplace, AMSOIL Dealers have the advantage. AMSOIL offers the products
motorists need: Top-quality synthetic lubricants that provide extended drain intervals, extended

New 10W-30 Viscosity Joins Motorcycle Oil
Lineup
Motorcycle applications place greater and more diverse demands on lubricants than automobiles,
and conventional motor oil chemistries typically fall short of providing an adequate level of
protection. The introduction of the reformulated AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 and 20W-50 Motorcycle Oils
in 2005 addressed the special needs of motorcycles head-on, providing maximum protection and
performance and effectively extending equipment life. As fuel economy has become increasingly
important in today's world of record gas prices, more equipment manufacturers have begun
recommending lighter viscosity SAE 30 oils. In order to meet this new demand, AMSOIL is introducing
its new 10W-30 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle Oil (MCT). Formulated with the same proven technology
as 10W-40 and 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oils, it provides maximum protection and fuel economy for
motorcycle, scooter, ATV and UTV engines specifying an SAE 30 or 10W- 30 viscosity, as well as
transmissions specifying an SAE 80, API GL-1 gear lubricant.
Reduces Friction, Heat, Wear and
Deposits
AMSOIL 10W-30 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil keeps engines running cool by effectively reducing friction
and heat, and it contains a heavy treatment of antiwear additives to provide maximum wear
protection over a broad operating temperature range (see graph). It is extremely resistant to
volatility (see graph), reducing oil consumption, oil thickening and deposit formation.
Provides Extreme Pressure Quality Protection for
Gears
Because it is shear stable and does not thin out from mechanical activity, AMSOIL 10W-30 Motorcycle
Oil also provides superior transmission protection without the negative effects of extreme pressure
additives, such as poor wet clutch performance.
Delivers Superior Rust and Corrosion
Protection
Motorcycles are prone to rust from storage, humidity and short drives that can lead to uncontrolled
wear, compression loss and blow-by. Unlike many motorcycle oils, AMSOIL 10W-30 Motorcycle Oil
contains special antirust agents that deliver superior rust protection, while its high TBN (see
graph) provides greater protection from acid corrosion and helps maintain internal engine
cleanliness.
Provides Excellent Wet Clutch
Performance
AMSOIL 10W-30 contains no friction modifiers and promotes smooth shifting and positive clutch
engagement. It controls heat and prevents slippage and glazing, promoting longer clutch life.
Service Life
AMSOIL 10W-30 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle Oil is recommended for use up to twice the motorcycle
manufacturer change interval (miles/hours) or one year, whichever comes first, in engines and

The high price of fuel is a major area of concern for people and businesses. As prices continue
to rise and set record highs, fuel economy has become increasingly important for customers
everywhere, and people are doing everything they can to stretch their fuel dollars. Auto
dealerships have targeted fuel efficiency as a significant selling point. Many are having
difficulty keeping fuel efficient hybrid models in stock, while fuel inefficient truck and SUV
sales have slumped.
Unfortunately, as fuel prices have soared, so has the proliferation of questionable products
that tout improved fuel economy benefits but cannot live up to their marketing hype. Government
agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission have been busy seeking out and punishing some of the
worst offenders.
AMSOIL P.i. Performance Improver, on the other hand, offers proven performance. It increases
fuel economy, reduces emissions and restores vehicle power and performance by dissolving and
removing combustion chamber, intake valve and fuel injector deposits. In fact, field testing shows
AMSOIL P.i. provides an average fuel economy improvement of 2.3 percent and up to 5.7 percent (see
graph).
Because of this substantiation, as well as the company's confidence in the performance benefits
of P.i., AMSOIL is offering a money-back guarantee on the product's fuel economy benefits. If a
customer does not see fuel economy improvement in his or her vehicle after first-time use of P.i.,
AMSOIL will refund the purchase price of the product.
The P.i. money-back guarantee offer is good through December 31, 2008 and is open to everyone,
including Dealers, Preferred Customers, retail customers, catalog customers, commercial and retail
accounts. Because the most dramatic fuel economy improvement is achieved after first-time use of
P.i. in a vehicle with accumulated deposits, the P.i. moneyback guarantee is limited to vehicles
with a minimum of 25,000 miles that have not previously been treated with P.i. and have not
undergone any fuel system or fuel injector cleaning procedure. P.i. must be used with a full tank
of gas, and the P.i.-treated gas must be run until the tank is near-empty before filling up again.
Fuel economy measurement will then be taken on the tankful of gas following the P.i.-treated tank
of gas.
Because potential customers have nothing to lose, the P.i. money-back guarantee is an excellent
opportunity for Dealers to increase their sales of P.i. and other AMSOIL products. P.i. is an ideal
door-opener. Once customers experience the benefits, they may be interested in the benefits of
other products in the AMSOIL line.
Process
Customers are eligible for the refund if they do not see a fuel economy improvement following use
of the subsequent tank of gas after P.i. treatment. If a customer has not received a fuel economy
benefit and wishes to take advantage of the money-back guarantee, he or she may simply download and
print the rebate form from the AMSOIL Corporate Website at www.amsoil.com. The form contains
complete qualification details and must be completely filled out and mailed with the P.i. purchase
receipt to the following address:
