For that reason, if a Dealer is aware that he or she may sell several filters, he or she may want to consider stocking a personal inventory of those specific filters.

AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver

Two fuel additives in one bottle adds convenience for diesel owners

AMSOIL now offers a premium, year-round diesel fuel additive that provides improved efficiency and maximum cold-weather performance. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver (DFC) combines the superior detergency of AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate (ADF) and the excellent anti-gelling properties of AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver (ACF) in one convenient package without sacrificing performance.

Improved Efficiency
AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is formulated with excellent detergency properties to help keep injectors, rings, piston crowns and the fuel pump lubricated. By improving injector performance, combustion becomes more efficient and less soot is generated. Superior Cold-Weather Performance
As the temperature drops, the wax naturally found in diesel fuel begins to form crystals. The point at which wax crystals form is known as the cloud point. These wax crystals eventually clog the fuel filter and starve the engine of fuel, preventing it from starting. While lowquality fuels may form wax crystals in temperatures as warm as 40°F (4°C), most fuels have a cloud point near 32°F (0°C). The point at which the wax crystals clog the fuel filter is known as the cold filter-plugging point (CFPP). AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver lowers the CFPP by as much as 34°F (19°C) in ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD).

It also reduces the pour-point temperature of treated diesel fuel, providing better fuel delivery to the injectors during cold weather. It is formulated with a jet-fueltype deicer that controls ice formation in all sections of the fuel system. Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver minimizes the need for the use of #1 diesel fuel, enabling better fuel economy, performance and lubricity. Pour Point Vs. CFPP
It is important to distinguish between CFPP and pour point. Many competitors make great claims regarding pour point, leading consumers to believe their products are superior when they actually have an inferior CFPP. Once fuel surpasses its cloud point, the wax crystals begin to clog the fuel filter. The CFPP temperature is a more important characteristic than pour point because the engine will not run if fuel cannot pass through the fuel filter.

Ultra-Low-Sulfur Diesel Fuel Challenges
The reduced sulfur levels in modern ULSD result in reduced lubricity, the property that controls wear in the fuel injectors and fuel pump. Improving lubricity in ULSD is difficult because it must be done without adding sulfur back into the fuel. Additionally, ULSD is subjected to extensive refining, making it even more difficult to treat. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is formulated specifically for modern ULSD fuel. It improves lubricity, helps maintain engine oil TBN and prevents soot loading.

Recommendations
One 16-oz. bottle of AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver treats 40 gallons of fuel. Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver will show no signs of solidifying in its concentrated state in the bottle until the temperature reaches -22°F (-30°C). It will only freeze in its concentrated state, and AMSOIL recommends storing it at temperatures above 0°F (-18°C). If Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is allowed to freeze in the bottle it can be thawed and used. When mixed with diesel fuel, Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver effectively improves diesel fuel coldtemperature properties. It is recommended, however, that fuel be treated at temperatures above 32°F (0°C). Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver will not dissolve wax crystals which have already formed in the fuel.

AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver meets federal regulations for ULSD fuel. It complies with federal low-sulfur content requirements for use in diesel motor vehicles and non-road engines. While Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is formulated specifically for ULSD fuel, it is also effective in non- ULSD fuels, including biodiesel.

AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is specifically formulated to improve the lubrication of fuel system components, improve fuel flow, help maintain fuel integrity and prevent the fuel filter and injectors from clogging. Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is recommended for diesel-powered vehicles, home heating oil and kerosene heating systems.

AMSOIL Now Offers 150 New Injen/AMSOIL Gasoline Air Intake Systems

Fresh off the introduction of Injen/AMSOIL Cold Air Induction Systems for gasoline auto and light truck applications, AMSOIL is adding 150 additional gasoline air intake systems.

Market for Air Intake Systems
According to SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association), a new air intake is one of the first aftermarket modifications a car owner makes to his or her vehicle.

Because air intake systems consistently rank as the most popular consumer aftermarket accessories purchased, the AMSOIL partnership with Injen provides a fantastic selling opportunity for AMSOIL Dealers.

Intake System Design
Cold air intake systems serve several important functions. Primarily, they are used to increase the amount of oxygen available to the engine, increasing power. Because cool air has greater density than hot air, aftermarket intakes improve combustion of fuel by capturing cooler air from outside the engine compartment. In addition, an aftermarket air intake system increases the diameter of the intake as compared to the original equipment, increasing air flow into the engine and making more oxygen available during the combustion process. By designing a more direct route for the air entering the engine, as well as a smoother interior surface for the intake, air resistance is reduced and air flow is increased. Air intake systems can improve gas mileage and increase performance, and they also add a sleek, custom look to a vehicle.

New AMSOIL Power Steering Fluid

Most power steering systems use a belt-driven pump to provide hydraulic pressure to the system. The pump, usually a rotary vane pump, is driven by the vehicle's engine. As the speed of the engine increases, the pressure in the hydraulic fluid also increases, necessitating the incorporation of a relief valve to allow excess pressure to be bled away.

While the power steering is not being used (driving in a straight line), twin hydraulic lines provide equal pressure to both sides of the steering wheel gear. When torque is applied to the steering wheel, the hydraulic lines provide unequal pressures, providing assistance in turning the wheels in the intended direction. Other modern hydraulic power steering systems include an electronic pressure valve which can reduce the hydraulic pressure of the power steering lines as the vehicle's speed increases. This is known as variable assist power steering.

Why Change Power Steering Fluid?
Power steering fluid is one of the most neglected fluids under the hood because most people don't think about it unless there is a problem. Consumers realize that power steering systems require additional fluid occasionally, but do not realize that power steering fluid should be changed at regular intervals. Many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) recommend changing power steering fluid due to the accumulation of wear material and other debris within the power steering system. For example, Dodge recommends changing the power steering fluid in its 2005-2008 Magnum and Charger models every 60,000 miles. In addition, power steering fluid has a service life, just like any other lubricating fluid. It is subject to temperature extremes and must combat contaminants while simultaneously fulfilling its role as a hydraulic fluid.

AMSOIL Dominator Synthetic 5W-20, 10W-30 and 15W-50 Racing Oils are now available. AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 20W-50 Racing Oil (TRO) is discontinued and available while supplies last. The price of Dominator Synthetic 15W-50 Racing Oil is slightly higher than the price of Series 2000 Synthetic 20W-50 was and reflects a general price adjustment effective August 1.

New 10W-30 Viscosity Joins Motorcycle Oil Lineup

Motorcycle applications place greater and more diverse demands on lubricants than automobiles, and conventional motor oil chemistries typically fall short of providing an adequate level of protection. The introduction of the reformulated AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 and 20W-50 Motorcycle Oils in 2005 addressed the special needs of motorcycles head-on, providing maximum protection and performance and effectively extending equipment life. As fuel economy has become increasingly important in today's world of record gas prices, more equipment manufacturers have begun recommending lighter viscosity SAE 30 oils. In order to meet this new demand, AMSOIL is introducing its new 10W-30 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle Oil (MCT). Formulated with the same proven technology as 10W-40 and 20W-50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oils, it provides maximum protection and fuel economy for motorcycle, scooter, ATV and UTV engines specifying an SAE 30 or 10W- 30 viscosity, as well as transmissions specifying an SAE 80, API GL-1 gear lubricant.

Reduces Friction, Heat, Wear and Deposits
AMSOIL 10W-30 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil keeps engines running cool by effectively reducing friction and heat, and it contains a heavy treatment of antiwear additives to provide maximum wear protection over a broad operating temperature range (see graph). It is extremely resistant to volatility (see graph), reducing oil consumption, oil thickening and deposit formation.

Provides Extreme Pressure Quality Protection for Gears
Because it is shear stable and does not thin out from mechanical activity, AMSOIL 10W-30 Motorcycle Oil also provides superior transmission protection without the negative effects of extreme pressure additives, such as poor wet clutch performance.

Motorcycles are prone to rust from storage, humidity and short drives that can lead to uncontrolled wear, compression loss and blow-by. Unlike many motorcycle oils, AMSOIL 10W-30 Motorcycle Oil contains special antirust agents that deliver superior rust protection, while its high TBN (see graph) provides greater protection from acid corrosion and helps maintain internal engine cleanliness.

Provides Excellent Wet Clutch Performance
AMSOIL 10W-30 contains no friction modifiers and promotes smooth shifting and positive clutch engagement. It controls heat and prevents slippage and glazing, promoting longer clutch life.

Service Life
AMSOIL 10W-30 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle Oil is recommended for use up to twice the motorcycle manufacturer change interval (miles/hours) or one year, whichever comes first, in engines and transmissions. When using an engine oil filter other than AMSOIL Ea, change the filter at standard intervals.

For off-road use, change AMSOIL 10W-30 at motorcycle manufacturer intervals.

Racing or modified engines are excluded from extended drain interval recommendations. Oil changes are at the owner's discretion.
