67 Beetle Filter Installation
As you can see in this picture the AMS-Oiler is mounted on the other side opposite the By-Pass filter and has one hose running directly to the By-Pass filter just above the fan housing of the engine. I wired this according to the instructions, but ran the wiring back through along side the wiring harness to the back seat. Once the back seat is removed I found the power wire that runs to the engine coil as it passes there and wired it up under the back seat. This way the buzzer will be easier to hear, under the back seat, and I won't have to look at shocked faces at VW shows when a buzzer sound comes from my engine compartment! Having it under the back seat should avoid having others outside the car hear that buzzer. The instructions say that the buzzer is not necessary and that without a buzzer you just wait a few seconds before starting your engine to let the AMS-Oiler pump up the system. I like the buzzer and wait until the buzzer quits sounding before starting the engine. I don't have an oil pressure gauge, but most times the oil light has already gone out before the engine has started which is great. This works great with the AMSOIL By-Pass filter installation. I real happy with this and plan to do it again on another car.
